Dublin

On our own in Dublin, we walked then took the train into the city center. First stop was Trinity College to see the book of Kells. This illuminated book is beautiful in its details. Its hard to imagine the work it took to do this with quills and minerals. My favorite , though, was the "Long Room" a library beautifully carved housing very old leather bound books. The knowledge contained within it is awesome.

Next to the archeological museum to see the Celtic treasure. Gold jewelry and ornaments found in bogs. Other displays of Viking artifacts were equally interesting. A quick stop at the cafe for a cup of hot chocolate and a pastry and we were off again.

The temple bar area was full of colorful and quaint pubs. People sat around enjoying a pint and the nice weather as well. We walked over the famous bridges then found a taxi to return to the ship.

Hopefully photos to follow....
