Thursday in Prague...

I will try later to send photos here as none have posted  to date.  All instructions are in  Czech now.

We left here at 7:15 this morning to take the tram to castle hill.  Had breakfast  in a charming restaurant near the St.Nicholas church.  Called the Balkan breakfast, bread, raspbery puree, butter, eggs cooked in a spicy paprika and pepper sauce with cheese and zuchinni. It was delicious!!  Strong coffee too which we all needed.

The church was beautiful and very baroque in design  Stained glass windows varied and wonderful.  mucha cesigned a couple of them that were spectacular.  Much gold leaf and some silver as well whixh we haven't seen before.  We then toured the cathederal and castle streets .  The tiny shops and narrow battlement display of armor was interesting.  The castle district is on a hilltop which makes walking a challenge plus it is cobblestone and tricky to walk upon.

Of course we stopped for a beer along the way down and then across the Charles bridge to take the tram down the street again toward our hotel for a short rest.  We needed to put our feet up before setting out again to find a dinner place and more beautiful sights

The keyboard is working so writing is easy now.  When using only my one finger the post gets short!!         Having techie George along sure helps!!  We are enjoying the larger room and need to do a bit of housekeeping before the cruise.

  1. You are wearing me out just reading about all you're seeing and doing. It sounds absolutely wonderful.
