First day...

After meeting for breakfast at 8:30 in the dining room, we wandered off in exploration of this quaint city. Cobblestone streets here in the city center make walking good but carefully done. They are very polite and wait for pedestrians even though there are no traffic lights to be seen.
Most of us headed to the main cathedral and the park to paint or look in the shops. We took many photos to use in the future for inspiration. Henry, George and Bruno struck a bargain with the hat man and each purchased a nice straw hat to make them look very dashing as well as keeping the sun off their heads.
Helma and I picked up our gear and painted beside the cathedral under the shade tree. The colors and shapes are new and challenging. As I sat on the bench I was joined by a tiny girl who was fascinated by my painting and inched closer until she was actually leaning against me! Kathy, Neil, Kay,and Juliana painted in the park across from the cathederal.
Needing a break when the guys came, we stopped for coffee and a pastry....delicious! ...then back to the BnB for a rest and relaxation until cocktails and dinner. We had a bit of show and tell and critique. Neil's work is lovely as always!
Dinner at Los Milagros was delicious and fun with singers doing familiar US songs. We may be going back there for the final four game on saturday.
I'm looking forward to a better night's sleep and being rested tomorrow. Many of us are feeling the affects of yesterday's long travel day.
More exploration and painting tomorrow.

  1. Your place looks delightful. How cool that you let the little girl watch you work. I'd love to see some photos of your art.
